The Nacogdoches Downtown Business Association (NDBA) met this morning. What a great group of business owners and others who support our thriving downtown! Take a look at recent comments in the “About” section of this website, as well as the most recent comments here.

Dear Nacogdoches,
Soon I will be moving to the area from Central Texas, and after looking through your multiple downtown association websites, I am so excited to see a community that loves their Historic Downtown as much as the one I am leaving!
To what website should I go, or to whom may I write to obtain more information on your community? Thank you for having such a great internet presence, and allowing me to learn as much as I have so far. I can’t wait to read more about you…
Most Sincerely,
R. L. Seamans

R.L,
Thanks for your heartfelt note! We can’t wait to welcome you to Nacogdoches!
As you navigate the http://www.shopnacfirst.com site, you’ll find links to the Downtown Business Association, Convention and Visitors Bureau, NEDCO and the City.
My recommendation for folks specifically interested in moving to Nacogdoches is to start with the Chamber of Commerce website, http://www.nacogdoches.org
This site has everything you’ll need to know about schools, cultural attractions, entertainment, housing, city and county government, and more. It also lists the 800-plus Chamber members – for the most part businesses that can assist you in setting up your household in your new hometown.
Welcome home to Nacogdoches, R.L. We await you with open arms!

Heart of Texas will be open late till 8 pm, November 6 for First Friday Holiday Open House. We have new merchandise, our Nacogdoches ball ornaments, and food samples for you to try. Our buddy and Cowboy Poet, Dave Watson will be in the store at 7 p.m. telling tall tales and making you laugh. Outside, local legend Norman Johnson will be entertaining the crowd with stories of his adventures and promoting his book “The Kid and The King” (as in The King – Elvis)!
