Talk about shopping locally! A similar event held in Austin two weeks ago cost almost $300 for registration, plus travel and hotel. Easily could run up to $700 or more.
The newest neighbor on the downtown square, The Runaway Mule is your number one choice for specially-designed shirts with a local theme. Favorites include our "Follow the Red Brick Road to Historic Downtown Nacogdoches" and "Nacogdoches Was An Indian" shirts. We also feature the works of local authors, artists, musicians and photographers. Come by and read about the legends of Nacogdoches and check out all of our stuff. We're right between Kennedy's and the Olde Towne General Store. Downtown merchants and employees get a 10% discount!

Great video!
The "Main Street" concept extends beyond the street literally labeled Main Street. Nacogdoches is fortunate to have Sarah O'Brien's talented leadership in our local program.
Hats off to the National Trust for Historic Preservation, Texas Historical Commission and the City of Nacogdoches for their work in not only preserving historic sites, but getting involved in grassroots economic development by nurturing businesses to be active users of those sites.
"Shop Nac First" extends the 'buy local' concept even further - including stores and restaurants of downtown Nacogdoches plus small (and not-so-small) retailers and service providers scattered across the county.
"Shop Nac First" means give your neighbor's business a chance to earn your dollars first.
And especially allow our 'one-of-a-kind' local businesses the opportunity to serve you.

Thanks for the mention. I hope collectors like me will visit the Wildflower. We've got a rare bottle of L'air du Temp perfume in a Lalique bottle, two meerschaum pipes, a crystal Waterford clock and a sterling silver James Avery bracelet in a pattern that is now retired. There's a wide variety of costume jewelry too.
You should see the clever things the artisans in the shop make! Downtown Nacogdoches is really becoming known for the wonderful little shops on the brick streets.
The Wildflower is at 406 Main, open Tuesday through Saturday 10-5.

Everyone should take a look at the creative Valentine window displays in downtown Nacogdoches.
Several on Main street and around the square. We stopped in the Wildflower and saw some unique valentine baskets that include chocolate, antique china and other clever ideas. One even had fishing lures (must be a way to snag that special guy!)
Also saw some cute hand-made valentine cards. Great shop!
